Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs)

HB 2720 (signed in 2024) legalized two ADUs (also known as guest houses) on every single-family lot in Arizona cities with a population above 75,000.

It also allows a third ADU on any lot larger than one acre or if an ADU is deed-restricted affordable.

Finally, it includes provisions to prevent requirements for additional parking or other specifications that have deterred ADU construction in other states.

This makes Arizona’s ADU bill one of the strongest ADU bills in the country!
